The project that goes along with the poem by Aileen Fisher is a pine cone bird feeder.

Tie a string to the top of a pine cone (do this step first).  Smear the pine cone with peanut butter, then roll it around in a pan of bird seed.  Then hang it in an appropriate spot for the birds to munch on.

Patrick made this project in Kindergarten at Toro Park School.  It turned out great.  The Stellar Jays were too big to successfully feed (even though they tried & tried).  You can tell that I have no love of those big, aggressive, nasty birds.
